Eubanks & Associates, PLLC opened its doors on July 1, 2019, in order to provide the highest-quality legal services at below-market rates to environmental, public health, and other advocacy organizations. In many respects, the firm carries on the tradition of Meyer Glitzenstein & Eubanks LLP which, in that firm’s more than 26 years of existence, won many important legal victories around the country, while representing clients on a statutory attorneys’ fee basis when possible, or at public interest rates that are well below market rates for equivalent work. Among other notable distinctions, Meyer Glitzenstein & Eubanks LLP was recognized by the Washingtonian Magazine as “the most effective public interest law firm in Washington.”

When his law partners decided the time had come for them to pursue different professional opportunities, William Eubanks recognized the continued need for a firm of this kind to ensure that nonprofit organizations, environmentalists, scientists, journalists, and activists would have their important perspectives represented in court. The firm’s attorneys strive to use the law creatively to protect public lands, wildlife, rivers and wetlands, natural resources, animals in captivity, and public health, as well as to continue aggressive use of open government laws and other statutes intended to serve the public interest in transparency.

We are fortunate to have worked with many talented and dedicated lawyers and other colleagues over the years while sustaining a true public interest law practice.  Whether we win or lose our cases, we pride ourselves on representing our clients and their important causes as effectively and vigorously as possible.

Eubanks & Associates, PLLC continues to work closely with both Katherine Meyer and Eric Glitzenstein—William Eubanks’s former law partners—in their current capacities. Katherine Meyer is now a Visiting Professor and Director of the new Animal Law Clinic at Harvard Law School and Eric Glitzenstein is the Director of Litigation at the Center for Biological Diversity. Beginning July 1, 2019, Katherine can be reached at both kmeyer@law.harvard.edu and also at kmeyer@meyerglitz.com, and Eric can be reached at eglitzenstein@biologicaldiversity.org.
